What do you draw first hair or the face? Because I have been typically drawing the hair first because I find drawing the head so hard, any tips on what body parts I should draw first when designing characters??

i generally start off with the nose and then place facial features around it accordingly! It’s like the center of the face so it helps giving you and idea of where you want everything else to go

here are some rlly general tips you gotta keep in mind when drawing the face:

the space between the eyes is the size of the character’s eye
the bottom of the ear is always aligned with the nose
the mouth should be aligned with the character’s jaw

these are super simple but they really helped me in making my character’s look a lot better!

Anyone wondering why your animals are looking a bit off, this is really useful. Sometimes it takes a long time to realise that even amoung the same families of animals, spines and hips and leg structures can have nuanced or heavy differences, and taking note of them improves the look of each species immeasurably.

Face shapes too. And as shown down the bottom, knowing your anatomy helps you to make really fucking sick-ass cool mythical creatures.

*If you need to cash from an ATM and its not a large amount, buy a 5 cent piece of gum from a gas station that has the cash back option. Its cheaper than a $3 charge

*Act less intelligent than you really are. Acting stupid can get you out of some tricky situations. Feigning ignorance is way better than admitting you knew better but did it anyway. My old man used to say ‘It is easier to beg forgiveness than ask for permission’…sometimes it’s true.

*Every time I fly, when I land I’ll pen a little complaint to the airline that flew me. You know, I’ll come up with something like “oh, they denied me a drink! Oh, the food wasn’t vegetarian!” Whatever miscellaneous hogwash potpourri comes to my crazy brain. And like clockwork, within a business day, they’re reimbursing me with a $50 voucher, a $100 voucher, I can sell that on the secondary market.

*I’ve always had a lot of success in shutting nosy people up by blaming any personal issue on allergies. Crying from a panic attack? Allergies giving me puffy eyes. What’s that mysterious pill I’m taking? Allergy meds. Why am I acting spaced out/hungover/tired? Allergies meds making me drowsy.

*If you really wanna get away with some shit, buy a reflective vest, a white hard hat, and a clipboard. You can go ANYWHERE.

SAT AND OTHER STANDARDIZED TEST TIPS IF YOURE BROKE

If you’re like me and you can’t afford fancy tutors or anything like that here are a few tips Incase you are going to take the SAT soon!

- for starters if you are going to be a senior, try and take the SAT in August bc a lot of incoming juniors take it then, they usually don’t know as much math, and the curve is higher! Also studying for SAT over the summer is much easier. Would also recommend taking the SAT at an earlier date like March or May just to get a baseline score (most colleges let u send highest score).

- USE THE COLLEGE BOARD website. They have 8 FULL LENGTH practice tests. I’d recommend doing at least 4 before your sat bc it almost always makes your score improve. These tests are literally by the SAT and give u a pretty good idea of how long the test is and how to pace yourself. They also have individual practice and videos and what not and is overall a top notch resource.

- see if ur school library has other test prep books that u can take practice tests or practice sections out of. DO NOT USE PRINCETON REVIEW. they legit have the dumbest ideas and it is way better if u can use college board or barrons.

- if you can’t get a TI-84 calculator try and borrow from a friend. These are especially helpful because you can download and program lots of different programs (like the quadratic formula for example) which will make the test go wayyy faster. all of these programs can be found online and usually don’t take more than a few minutes to instal on ur calculator. I’d recommend having programs that can give you slope, distance formula, and other basic algebra equations.

- do one reading/writing passage or ten math questions a day. It shouldn’t take more than 10-15 mins and it is super helpful to do little bits of practice. THERE R TONS OF CHEAP SAT PRACTICE THINGS ONLINE and also u can also just do sections of the college board free tests.

- register for ur test early and apply for a fee waiver. They are actually pretty good about giving you a reduced fee and it’s not a super difficult processs.

- if you take the essay (which I highly recommend) make sure u practice the essay a few times. THE ESSAY IS THE SAME SHIT EVERYTIME. analyze a piece of writing, then write an essay on it. The SAt likes a very basic and traditional essay - so long as you have good grammar, a strong thesis, and you reference evidence within the text (and also it helps to bring outside evidence). It’s a cookie cutter essay so as long as u answer what they ask and it’s coherent u should be fine. Also change up the length of ur sentences - SAT loves that. Remmeber each reader only reads ur essay for 30 seconds so it doesn’t need to be a literary masterpiece. ALSO MAKE AN OUTLINE BEFORE U WRITE JUST DO IT.

- ask ur teachers to teach you any math that you might not know. It helps to brush up on functions and some basic statistics information.

- also ask ur teachers to teach u any grammar or any other related things (such as parallelism - which SAT loves to test). Know the rules of commas and hyphens. It will make the test much easier.

- DONT STRESS TOO MUCH. YOU WILL DO WELL!

FINAL NOTE: WHATEVER U GET ON THE SAT DOESNT DETERMINE UR WORTH. THESE ARE SHITTY ASS TESTS AND THEY ARE DESIGNED TO TRICK YOU. YES, UNFORTUNATLEY THEY MATTER, BUT IF YOU DONT DO SUPER WELL IT WONT DRAMATICALLY HURT YOUR CHANCES, BUT DOING WELL MIGHT REALLY HELP YOU OUT!! I HOPED THIS HELP!
